Foster Parents in Action
is an organization seeking legal rights and resources to better
serve the needs of our foster children and our families who bare
great responsibility and sacrifice for this ministry.
For each of us to be the
positive, primary parental figure for our foster children, we
must obtain acceptance as state trained and certified
professionals who are “partners” in the field of child care for
the abused and the neglected children of this great State.
Foster Parents in Action has
established many goals to achieve this success. Our primary and
immediate focus is implementing a “Foster Parent Bill of
Rights”. Presently there are seven other states that have such a
bill. These states are becoming more progressive and
show strong evidence of better standardized systems to serve the
needs of foster children and enabling the foster parents to be
“parents” and do a better job creating a family
atmosphere for these
children.
As an advocate for foster
parents, it is our intent to provide, emotional support,
information, education, resources, fun and a network and
platform for the development of quality parental guidance and
effective change in the lives of foster children, foster parents
and the entire foster care system of our state.
